The Fallen Hero Tribute Bike Project Launches at the Leadville Trail 100

Leadville, CO- August, 8/10/13 2013 – The inaugural Fallen Hero Tribute Bike Project is a program created by the nonprofit Phoenix Patriot Foundation (PPF) to bring awareness to the 16,000 severely wounded U.S. vets that need support.  This year’s bike commemorates fallen hero, Patrick Feeks. Patrick was an avid cyclist and Navy SEAL who was killed during combat operations in Afghanistan. Josh Colley and the staff of the LT100 graciously showcased the bike in the downtown Leadville store, expo, and gave PPF the opportunity to address the race participants. The Leadville race crowd of 2,000 learned about Hero Patrick Feeks, The Fallen Hero Tribute Bike Project and PPF’s veteran focused mission.
The Fallen Hero Tribute Bike Project’s goals are simple; honor a true American hero, and engage the public on how they can get involved. Through the site, visitors can register online for an opportunity to win an amazing bike and support a noble cause. PPF’s goal is that people registering for the Fallen Hero Tribute Bike drawing will also take the time to learn PPF’s mission and help support their programs by making a donation. The Fallen Hero Tribute Bike would not have been possible without generous contributions from:  Felt Bicycles, Shimano, Fox, and Enve Composites.
The Launch of the Fallen Hero Tribute Bike Project successfully generated over $5,000 in donations for PPF programs over the LT100 race weekend.  The goal is to raise $20,000 before the bike is raffled on Veteran’s Day 11/11/13. To enter the online drawing please click, here.
