Team History

The Phoenix Patriot Foundation mountain bike team came to be in mid-2010 when the NSW (Naval Special Warfare) Flyin' Frogs mountain bike team decided to unanimously endorse the efforts of the Phoenix Patriot Foundation. In its previous iteration, the team's commitment to endurance racing has been rewarded with consecutive National Points series championship in 2008 and 2009. In 2011, the PPF MTB Team partnered with the So Cal Endurance race organization and its founder, Jason Ranao, to bring the Phoenix Patriot Foundation's message to a large, diverse, and passionate regional audience of racers, family members, and patriotic Americans. During the 2011 campaign, the team has had a strong presence at each of the 12 hour races, along with a fantastic visit to the Leadvillle 100 mountain bike race. Through our outreach and race participation, we have had the opportunity to inform other racers, support staff, and the public about PPF's mission and the various avenues through which someone can get involved. For 2012, we intend to grow our presence on the regional and national endurance racing calendar, hoping to make a repeat visit to the Leadville 100 and to expand and develop our fundraising and outreach activities.
